When summarizing and using blogs important to remember 4 keys:
Summarize information- Teacher will assign a student to summarize what they have based as vital information. Leaving an opportunity for fellow students and the teacher to add to the information. Generally these types of additional information will be added to the comment section of the blog.
Questioning- After the lead (selected student) has finished the summary, the student shall incorporate a couple of questions that the students will then answer to improve conversation or help those who are still struggling in a few areas.
Clarifying- The lead will then ask for clarification in any area's that still seem to stumble the fellow students. If no one can answer or give the facts required, they are able to re-examine the necessary information to try and grasp at it again. If they are still struggling, the teacher can then add the information causing their to be "ah-ha" moments in which the students seem to understand what is being asked.
Predicting- In the predicting aspect it leaves the lead a chance to guess at what the students will be learning in the next few lessons. Also the lead can use any information that might be linked to what they studied as a key into guessing what else they will learn.
After the discussion is complete, the teacher could then share the link with parents so they can see what the class has been learning about.
